Washington Street UMC
Ministry for
Young Adults

The Young Adult group was formed to help fill the spiritual needs
of the 20-30 somethings at Washington Street UMC.

As Wesley said “Lives are transformed in small groups when
people meet together to pray, to study, and to engage in fellowship”.

Young Adults from WSUMC recently planned and led both worship services for "Young Adult Sunday 2010." Pictured on Young Adult Sunday 2009 (L to R) Nathan Sadler, Sean Hagan, Angela Leese, Matt Leese, Bill Smith, Tracy Marrs, Lindsey Smith, Lane Conway, Jennifer Jura, Ashley Kent (Director of Young Adult Ministries), Deanne Florindi, Megan Jones, and Sara Keeling (Associate Pastor).

NOTICE TO YOUNG ADULTS: Washington Street UMC offers a second earlier weekly service of worship held at 9 a.m. each Sunday in our sanctuary. This "come as you are" service blends worship styles, features Communion every Sunday, and concludes in time for Sunday school at 9:45 a.m.

Nestled in the heart of Old Town Alexandria, Washington Street United Methodist Church has become home to "20- and 30-somethings" living and working in the area. WSUMC is dedicated to helping this community grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, connect more deeply with the other members and ministries of the church, and reach out to our surrounding community with the love of God.

Come learn with us as we study, worship, and serve in Christ's name. For additional information or to get involved in young adults ministries, contact Ashley Kent or call the church office, 703-836-2324.

The Young Adults will be in charge of organizing the fellowship time in the Narthex after 11 a.m. worship on the 1st Sunday of each month. This means setting up the table, providing snacks/drinks, hanging out at the table for about half an hour after worship, and clean-up. And of course, greeting and getting to know those who stop by the table! Please let Ashley know if you can help with future months. She'd love to get several people or teams set up ahead of time!
